Volunteer

The SDA is comprised of four committees and a board of directors.

We're looking for volunteers passionate about the vitality and vibrancy of Downtown Stevenson. Whether you're available two hours a month or two hours a year, we need your unique skill set. Consider joining us for a committee meeting, as a volunteer for a special event , or even as a board member.

PROMOTION

The Promotion Committee works to position the downtown commercial district as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases Stevenson’s unique characteristics.   Members of the Promotion Committee will be doing things that bring people downtown through event planning, execution and advertisement. If you love to throw a good party, enjoy designing and organizing advertising campaigns the Promotion Committee is the place for you.

DESIGN

The Design Committee supports our community's transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set our commercial district apart.  Members of the Design committee might be involved in initiatives concerning public places, uncovering a hidden historic façade, or developing a  way-finding kiosk for visitors. If you have an eye for design, a love of historic preservation or a passion for ‘place-making’- the design committee needs you on board!

ORGANIZATION

The organization committee's work involves creating a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating partnerships, community involvement, and resources for our district. Members of the Organization Committee may be involved in activities like volunteer recruitment, an annual fundraiser, staff performance reviews, reviewing and drafting policies for staff, and  annual review or creation of materials to recruit volunteers/donors. The Organizational committee meets on an “as needed” basis.

ECONOMIC VITALITY

The Economic Vitality (EV) Committee focuses on capital, incentives, and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies.

Examples of what you might do on the EV committee include business retention and expansion programs. By visiting with and listening to local business owners you can help inform and direct the Stevenson Downtown Association towards programs that would be most helpful to business owners. Additionally, the EV committee may pursue funding for a feasibility study or market analysis to assist and inform business owners.
